May 2025 - Reflection on This School Year
Hello friends!
Thank you for taking the time to read the updates and stay in the loop of what God is doing on campus! Your prayers and support mean so much to me!
Wow! I can't believe another school year has come and go! I have truly cherished my time at Dallas College and am excited for what is in store when I get to be on the University of Texas at Arlington campus next semester!
Here are some of my highlights from the year:
Leading a small group wtih Devereaux!
Devereaux grew up in a non-religious household and identified as an athiest coming into college. Hungry for answers for her big questions around faith and longing for connection, she joined our campus ministry and over the of a semester of being discipled, she decided to become a Christian! The past 2 years, she has stepped up to be a leader amongst her peers. Together, we led a small group of 10-15 college women. Devereaux is one of the most thoughtful, resilient, and compassionate people I know!
Doing a One-on-One Bible Study with Dyanna!
I met Dyanna during the first week of school in August 2023. I was behind a table with flyers and information for our ministry and she was curious, excited, and eager to hear more. She had been following Jesus for less than a year and was looking for a place to grow her faith. Dyanna and I met weekly studying the Bible together and I saw her make connections week after week of what it meant to make Jesus Lord over every area of her life - following Jesus in her friendships, in her family relationships, in dating, and in academics. I am so proud of how far she has come and I am excited to see her continue to grow as she transfers to SMU next year!
Leadership Conference for Students
I got to go with Dyanna as well as two other women I do one-on-one Bible studies with - Mahagony and Zullie - to a leadership conference in Seattle, Washington where they were empowered and equipped with vision and practical skills for how to share the Gospel on their campus as students! They are going to do wonderful things this fall for God - be praying for them as they go into this summer to continue to grow deep roots.
My Coworkers
I am so thankful I got to do ministry alongside a team! We relied on each other, prayed with each other, and problem-solved as unexpected curveballs were thrown at us. I look up to their faithfulness!
