Our Women's Small Group!

Hello!!

I hope this email meets you well! It has been a packed month, but there is a lot of be grateful for!

In our weekly woman's small group on campus, we have had 4 new girls join this semester: Mahagony, Aleah, Lilly, and Yvonna. They have brought fresh energy and vibrancy to our group!

Something I appreciate about each of them has been their boldness to jump into a pre-established group and be themselves. They have not been intimidated knowing that the rest of the group has already developed friendships, but instead, they have wholeheartedly and courageously shared themselves with us! Please be praying that the four of them develop deep roots in Jesus and meaningful friendships.

We had Pizza Theology this month and covered the topic of Money! Over the course of 5 hours on a Sunday evening, various pastors shared scripture from the OT law, the Wisdom Literature, Jesus's teachings, and the NT letters to provide a holistic perspective of what scripture teaches about stewarding our resources. I am proud of how these students showed up, took thorough notes, and asked a lot of questions!

The photo above captures a very special moment from this past month involving my friend Ally (on the left-hand side with glasses and a white & black striped sweater).

I met Ally during my time as a senior at UNT when she was a freshman. She was coming into college with a solid foundation set by her wonderful parents and was figuring out what it meant to follow Jesus as an emerging adult. We had the opportunity to study scripture together 2022-2023.

In the last two years, she has stepped into a role as a leader to her peers. The picture above shows all the UNT students she brought to church with her! She spends a lot of her time acting in and producing films for her degree and these are the people she works with. I am blown away by her boldness to bring up her faith around people who have been hurt by and feel bitterness toward the church. God is using her in mighty ways! What a beautiful example of showing the love of Jesus in whateever space one occupies!

I have loved seeing Kazayet step into more leadership as well! Here is a picture of him helping lead worship at our church last Sunday!

Thank you guys for supporting Richland FOCUS and believing in me as a campus minister! I love you all greatly!

Veronica
